Volunteer

Volunteers are what make Sisters’ Camelot work. Here’s how you can help us out…

Food Share

We share food 2 days a week in the winter and 4 days a week during the Farmers’ Market season. Check our calendar for upcoming dates. Be at the office by 9:45 am on those days to meet the crew (we leave right at 10!). We go to the warehouses, pick up food, sort it, and finally park the bus and hand it out. It’s a lot of fun, and a great way learn about Sisters’ Camelot firsthand.

Help Cook on the Kitchen Bus

We are currently cooking on the kitchen as possible, but not every regular day we had been.  Check back for more info when that changes!

We’re cooking 3 days a week on our kitchen bus ! Come help out Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday; contact Clive at bluebird@sisterscamelot.org. Events and schedules vary. We cook for the BareBones Halloween Show every year, and are always looking for more help to expand our free meal schedule.

Fundraising

Do you have experience writing grants?  Have a party coming up and want to donate the proceeds? We are constantly looking for new, fun, and creative ways to raise money to keep Sisters’ Camelot on the move.  If you have a project in mind, contact volunteer@sisterscamelot.org.

Technical Assistance

Do you know how to weld? Do you work with veggie oil conversions? Are you a writer or a blogger with a large Twin Cities audience? Do you take photos? Got mad computer skills? We are always looking for help on a variety of projects. Let us know what you can do; we could probably use your help.

Specific Projects

Spanish Speakers:  If you are a fully fluent or native Spanish speaker, we’d love to have your help translating some of our documents or giving our canvassers pointers on how to convey our message with limited Spanish.

Redesigning Our Fliers and Literature:  We’re looking for someone who is a little more graphics savvy than we are to help us design new literature. This would be the perfect special project for a graphics design or marketing student, and depending on your school’s policies you could probably even get credit for it.

If you’re interested in either of these projects, email volunteer@sisterscamelot.org for details.

In general, we love it when people with passion join us in our work in whatever way works best for them. If you like the sound of what we do, come check out a collective meeting (10 am on Mondays), and/or go out on a couple of Food Shares. We are non-authoritarian, flexible, and enthusiastic about new ideas and creative contributions. If you are self-motivated, there are plenty of opportunities to spear-head projects that are really beneficial to our organization and the communities we serve.

Sign up to volunteer, send an email to volunteer@sisterscamelot.org (best and most effective option), call us at the office (612.746.3051), or come to a meeting (Monday at 7pm).  We create a sustainable future when each of us brings our skills and we take action together.  We look forward to hearing from you and working with you.
